Swallow The Sun recently announced that it would be releasing an album titled Songs From The North, which is exciting considering Swallow The Sun has historically been an excellent melodic doom band! The interesting thing was that the album will be a three-disc affair, and with the initial announcement of the album came pretty much no explanation. So why the hell is this album three discs? Allow Swallow The Sun to explain with words and photographs.

So basically we’re just getting three albums at once. That’s awesome! I love the band’s approach to the record, doing three completely separate things all at once. For a second I thought it was just going to be one continuous thing, which was a little scary. Now I’m even more excited about Songs From The North!
